Job Purpose
The primary purpose of a Yard Marshall is to oversee the movement of vehicles and goods within the yard, ensuring the safe and efficient organisation of transportation, loading, and unloading activities. This includes directing traffic, managing yard operations, and maintaining the safety and security of the yard environment to support smooth logistics operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive vehicles from one point to another according to daily instructions and requirements.
- Ensure adherence to yard rules; the safety of personnel and the quality of vehicles is the top priority.
- Perform basic quality inspections on vehicles within the storage yard.
- Provide ad-hoc operational support as requested by the supervisor.
- Carefully affix RFID tags on vehicles.
- Ensure proper operation of RFID scanners as per process guidelines.
- Conduct periodic battery health checks using authorised devices.
- Check and top up battery fluids as instructed.
- Perform waxing on chrome parts as instructed.
- Conduct vehicle wash activities before delivery.
- Dispense fuel to vehicles according to norms.
- Manage fuel station activities in compliance with safety protocols.
- Record daily fuel utilisation in the system and perform fuel stock audits.
- Perform basic quality inspections of all vehicles handled, focusing on exterior, interior, and moving parts.
Educational Qualification
- Secondary School Certificate; Diploma/ITI in Automotives or Bachelor's degree.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Competencies
- Valid UAE Light Vehicle Driving License (Manual License No 3 & 5).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Strong attention to detail regarding vehicle models, specifications, features, and colours; ability to quickly identify defects or issues.
- Good observational skills, quick learner, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing for long hours, walking long distances, and working in hot outdoor conditions.
- Sound physical and mental health, stamina, and no chronic ailments or relevant medical history.
- Understanding of superior customer service standards.
- Knowledge of roadside repairs.
